Michael Gershuny Memorial Ride

Donation protected
My name is Daniel Gershuny and my brother is Edward.

On May 18th, 2016, our father, Michael Gershuny passed away due to heart failure. If you ever knew our father throughout his life, you probably heard him talk about his passion for cars and bikes that he harbored since his childhood. Taking a look at his ownership record of motorcycles, sports cars, and luxury cars, it is obvious that he was an enthusiast of all motor vehicles, big and small. On top of this, he spent a good portion of his youth traveling the world, from Europe to the Middle East and the United States.

As it stands, my brother and I are at a point in our lives where we are young enough to be able to change its direction with no ill consequences. With the passing of our father, we have decided to get a couple bikes and hit the road in his memory.

As much as this will be a journey for fun, we will also be using this experience as a time to connect with our family as well. In California, our mom lives in Los Angeles and our cousin Lisa is getting married in April. In Florida, we have several relatives as well as family friends of our father we plan on visiting, and the grave of our Zaydee (grandfather), a place our Dad had talked about visiting but never got around to in recent years. In New York, we also have one of our father's best friends to visit as well.

We are planning to leave in the last week of March, rain or shine, where we will head from Seattle, WA down the coast to Southern California for our cousin's wedding and then east towards Florida. On the way to the East Coast we'll be passing through the states along the southern border such as Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama. From Florida, we'll head north through New England up to New York, and then turning west and weaving our way through the northern and central states back to Washington.

Now as you know, it takes time and money to travel across the U.S. for fuel, accomodation, food, touristy sights, and possible break-downs. Although we plan on bringing a tent to help with accomodation costs and are saving every dollar possible for this trip, every dollar you donate will help.

If you don't feel like donating, but live along the way of our route, we would be more than happy to trade stories of our travels for a roof over our heads as well!

This money will not go to waste and you will be able to live vicariously through us on our journey through social media as well as the purchasing, fixing, and readying of the bikes. We will be making an instagram account specifically for this journey, and you will also be able to follow along on my personal facebook page.

We know we are asking a lot, but my brother and I figured this would be a way to honor our father in a way we think would put a smile on his face! Every cent donated is appreciated more than you know, and we want to thank each and every person who helps us inch towards our goal!

Sincerely,
Daniel and Edward Gershuny
