Through Social Entreprisie, Mi Casita Lawrence is creating a system were housing could be built abundantly. As well as tackling the need for locally grown food. At our HQ in 107 Essex st. Lawrence, MA professionals and community members are engineering our communities sustainable future!
Today, I ask you to be a part of our story, help build the first Mi Casita!
We are raising funds to develop our first site on 24 Durham Street in Lawrence, MA. We are building a four unit structure made up primarily of steel containers. The homes will be surrounded by an edible food forest and roof top gardens. This space is looking to cater to the needs of single mothers. Our site is next to a school, next to transportation, and healthy food options.
We plan to use these funds to pay for development cost. We would hope the funds total to cover the entire cost of development. That alone would be statement to show how our community can independantly fund its own projects to solve its own issues.
In the next two month we will like to begin the development process. This project is geared to addressing the affordable housing crisis in Lawrence and worldwide. A project of this nature can hire a ton of people and will bring quality jobs to a community in need.
Donations will be refunded in the upcoming year with local grown veggies from our roof top gardens. Save your recipet, and we'll try to give your donations value in veggies.
$5,000 can purchase the Durham lot from the City of Lawrence
$6,000 will purchase two 20FT Containers
$30,000 is enough to purchase 10 Containers which is the materials for 4 Homes
$35,000 will finish one 320 - 420SF Living Unit
$70,000 will build Two Floor Level Units
$200,000 develops the entire property which is 4 homes.
Donate $50,000 and have a unit named after you or your organization.
