Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit our donation page. The full name of this fundraiser is "Marine Mom & Ava's ABC (Ava Belongs in California) Wish". This page was established in seeking for any donation funds that would help in retaining an attorney. The purpose is to help fight a very difficult custody battle for Ava to stay in California, at least until she is old enough, and has spent an equal amount of time with both parents while she is still young. Ava's father is wanting full custody and requesting for the court to allow Ava to move to New York.  Ava's mother is a single Marine mother, one of whom has sacrificed so much, has continued to stay strong and be there not only for herself but for others who are also going through difficult times, and a mother who has not given up on herself and daughter in this ongoing, almost two year custody battle. She cannot afford to retain an attorney and has no other way of obtaining any funds.  Ava is three years old and will be turning four in May 2014. She loves both her parents but she is also affected by the ongoing battle. She cries when she has to leave mommy to spend time with daddy. They spend less than half a day in the middle of the week together, and then partially on the weekends. Ava and her mother barely get a chance to even communicate via phone, Skype, Facetime, etc. Now imagine if she moved to the other coast of the country at four years old. If it is difficult for Ava and her Mother to see each other let alone communicate with each other now, you can only imagine how much more detrimental effects it would have to be thousands of miles apart.
