Metalheads - The Video Game

WHO WE ARE?

We're NEON WIZARD GAMES, a small independent studio made up of artists from all over the globe with one goal, to create fun original retro style video games created with 2d animation, and bringing back the classic Saturday Morning experience from our childhoods.

Our background lies in TV & Web animation, interactive toys & video games productions including; TY Beanie Babies, Transformers, MTV's Popzilla, The Ricky Gervais Show, Monster High, YouTube cartoon & pilots for various clients including; Mondo Entertainment's VileVille & Book em' Nerdo, AniMashups The Big 3, and Lion Forge's Rampage Jackson: Street Soldier, developed an animated series called Dragons VS Robots for Massiverse, along with Character Designer Thomas Perkins (Beware the Batman, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated).

With this Gofundme campaign we're raising funds to hire our team of artists that are currently working on this during their free time including; character & background designers, storyboarders, animators, post production etc.  to develop game play footage for our first title, the 80's throwback game METALHEADS "RUMBLE IN RAGNAROK", based off our cartoon property. The title is inspired by some of our favorite action-adventures video games including; Ghosts 'n Goblins, Castlevania, and  Dragon's Lair. The goal is to make an action-packed 13 level adventure, with killer graphics, game play and story for both the Xbox and Playstation platforms.

THE STORY

METALHEADS "RUMBLE IN RAGNAROK" tracks the misadventures of Mike and Ron; two head-bangin’, horror movie obsessed freshmen; forced to accept that they’re the lowest rung on the social totem pole at their snobby school. But heroes are found in the unlikeliest of places…and this duo of outcasts is called upon to fend off hordes of rampaging evils to save their hometown. Thankfully, it is not up to two, physically subpar, specimens alone. Mike and Ron receive friendship and guidance from Ghost, a Viking Princess, and from the patient All father of Norse mythology, Odin. Their secret acts of selfless heroism are met at schpol with thankless snobbery and dateless nights – HUZZAH!




Mike and Ron may one day become the heroes of legend, but right now they are just two, dimwitted slackers who came across a vinyl record at a local music store called “Destination Doomicus’ by the Knights of Doom. Super-psyched to hear some new metal, they use an old device known as a “record player”. But, aside from releasing some brutal metal sounds, the ancient record does something more. It opens a portal through space and time, releasing the great Norse Gods including; Odin, Loki, and God of War, Tyr. Loki unleashes his army of undead Viking warriors, and other unspeakable terrors  to conquer the puny planet. Mike and Ron encounter Valkyries, monsters, and other beings from the nine realms of Norse Mythology; some of them good, most of them gut wrenchingly evil.



One key guiding force they discover is that the horrors they’ve released follow a pattern. They are all playing out like the songs on the album, track by track. Now it’s up to Mike, Ron, and their new friend Ghost; to use the album and its sleeve as clues to reverse the evils ravaging their town. 

And yes, for all their heart pounding heroism, they are rewarded with nary a glance (and certainly not a phone number) from even the homeliest girls at their school.

Think “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” mixed with “The Evil Dead” trilogy, with Norse mythology mixed in for good measure! 




Our goal is to raise $3,000, however if we raise beyond this amount it'll be icing on the cake, and we'll be able to add additional things to the animation including cut scenes for the storytelling with voice acting. With your support we'll not only be able  to start paying our team of amazing artist including; Art Director Kevin Bouchard on this game play footage full time. But also help us reach our next phase, to launch an official crowdfunding campaign with a proper pitch video featuring artwork, music, and the game play footage to help make the game.

Those who donate to the cause whether it's $5 or $1000 you'll receive exclusive stuff like behind-the-scenes updates (both images & video) including designs, storyboards, music,  voice over, and rough to final animation, Art of  book, sketchbook, 3D printed statue, t-shirts, plus you'll be the first to watch the trailer & game play footage before the public.

And if we go beyond our wildest dreams, we'll add some amazing Stretch Goals!
