Our friend Eugene Wyatt passed away suddenly on May 29. He founded and was the shepherd for the Catskill Merino Sheep Farm in NYS for over 30 years. While all small farms are pursuits of passion rather than wealth, we are now learning the severity of the financial struggles Eugene was facing.
With his passing, the sheep are now in the caring and capable hands of Dominique, his partner at the farm for the past 13 years. In addition to her devastating loss, Dominique has been left with $20,000 of debt.
Her concern is taking care of the sheep, Poem (their fabulous farm dog) and the many barn cats who have been tended to by Eugene throughout the years. Attending to these sweet, gentle souls is a labor of love, but they need support at this time.
