Hello Friends, Family, and Lovers of Art everywhere!
I am very happy to announce Mended Wing Theatre Co.’s third season of touring!
Mended Wing was founded to bring Shakespeare’s plays to a wide audience of public school students across the south, and has toured Atlanta, south Georgia, and Miami with A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2017), and Two Gentlemen of Verona (2018), giving many students their first taste of live Shakespeare.
This year we will be taking Twelfth Night to middle and high schools in Winston-Salem NC, Brunswick, Macon, Atlanta GA, Jacksonville, and St. Augustine FL, returning to many of the schools from our first two tours, and expanding into even more.
Last year’s tour brought Shakespeare to 18 schools across Georgia and Florida, and this year we are trying to increase that number past 20 schools, but to do that we need your help.
As always our performances will be done for all the schools we visit free of charge, which means we need a little help with our travel and lodging expenses, food costs, and a small stipend for the artists who make up our company, and put in long hours on the road.
The estimated expense for this tour is $4000, or about $2 for every child we perform for, so every little bit counts!
