Memoriam for Mike and Anna Teachman

Donation protected

Mike Teachman and his daughter, Anna, were in a tragic vehicle accident on Sunday night, July 8, at 7:00 p.m. in Mannford, Oklahoma.

The family, Mike, Lori, Anna and Kara had enjoyed a family vacation traveling down through California and up Route 66 to bring Anna to registration and orientation at Oklahoma State University (OSU). At the end of the vacation Lori and Kara were flying home for a Dairy Ambassador workshop, so they were dropped off at the airport, and Mike and Anna continued driving to OSU. About 30 minutes outside of Tulsa, Mike and Anna were in a head-on car accident with a truck and trailer which crossed the center line.

Mike died at the scene, but Anna was transported to the hospital and was in the ICU on life support. It was determined that Anna died also as the result of a traumatic brain injury at the time of the accident. Since she had been kept on life support, Anna will live on with the gift of life to many others through organ donation.

We are confident both Mike and Anna, though absent from us here on earth, will live eternally in heaven because of their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior. All of our community of family and friends send our love and prayers to Lori and Kara. Mike and Anna will always be with us in memory and will never be forgotten. Although we don’t understand the why of this tragedy in our lives, we know that God is in control.

Funds from this memoriam of Mike and Anna will go to Lori to support herself and Kara during this time of change.
                                                                                                    --------------------------

About Anna: Just three weeks prior to her death, 19 year old Anna completed her year as the Washington State Dairy Ambassador. She represented the Dairy Farmers of Washington with confidence, grace, and knowledge as she shared the message of dairy farming and dairy products with thousands of children and adults throughout the state. We are so proud of Anna's accomplishments this year and are fortunate to have so many fond memories from this experience that she truly loved and radiated with joy.

Anna believed in the good in dairy and dairy farmers, and would always incorporate sharing dairy knowledge with those around her. I am confident that she would want one of her latest messages shared: https://wadairy.org/dairy-101/

Anna, as Washington State Dairy Ambassador, is pictured with her younger sister, Kara, the King-Pierce County Dairy Ambassador.

About Mike: As the husband and father of the family, Mike also served as the provider and solid foundation. Mike had a great interest in planes and flying, which suited him well in his position at Boeing within Information Technology. Naturally, he also earned his pilot's license.

I can recall many times the girls discussing a new project or whim with Mike, and Mike always asking his girls logistical questions before giving it his go-ahead. I watched Mike teach the girls about responsibility and commitment as they discussed costs, feeding, cleaning, and chore schedules associated with their projects and home. He appreciated that his girls were actively involved, but was also realistic about time management, and this guidance led both Anna and Kara to make wise, thought-out decisions. Mike was so proud of his girls and wife, and his love for his family shone clearly!

                                                                                                    --------------------

It is such a blessing to know Mike and Lori, and an honor to have watched Anna and Kara grow up throughout the years. With this tragic accident, Lori and Kara are now faced with many uncertainties as they have lost their husband, father, daughter, sister, and their two best friends.

We have begun this GoFundMe to provide financial assistance for Lori and Kara, and would love your assistance with this endeavor.
