Medical Expenses/Memorial Costs for Kathie Lugo

Donation protected
This Go Fund Me is for my mother, Kathie Lugo. Over the past month, she became very ill.  On October 4th, 2019, my two brothers and I received devastating news that our mother has bile duct cancer called Cholangiocarcinoma.  A very rare, aggressive and incurable cancer that is affecting her liver function.  At first, her oncologist said that she would be able to undergo chemotherapy.  If the Chemo was successful, she would have 1-2 years of life left.  Still in shock, my mother was wanting to undergo treatment.  After a 15 day stay at the hospital, she was released and we brought her home.  With high hopes and happiness, we thought my mother was on the road to recovery.   She wasn’t doing too good at home.  She could barely walk and keep her balance and was not eating or drinking anything.  Also, very fatigued.   This brought her back to the hospital.  Her oncologist was notified and told us that her cancer has spread rapidly and has pretty much taken over her body and that she is not healthy enough to receive any kind of treatment.  Her prognosis is very poor.

As I sit here and write this, heart broken and defeated, my brothers and I realize that she is occurring medical costs, and in the future, we will have funeral expenses that we will have to face.  Our mother is in hospice now, and keeping her comforted is our main priority.  She is a loving person and has left an imprint on many lives in her 66 years of life.  Family, friends, and even neighbors can all agree that they can go to my mother for any little thing, whether it be a small triumph in life or a heartache that’s keeping them up at night.  My mom is always there.  She would give you the shirt off of her back if need be.

The reason that we are creating this Go Fund Me is to cover any medical expenses that she may have and even the inevitable funeral costs.  As heart broken as we are to have to come to this, the financial burden is left on my brothers and I.  We have already lost our beloved father in 2007, and our mother is all we have left.  She is our backbone and our foundation.  We all love her so much.   We would like to thank you for taking the time to read her story.

My brother, Brandon Lugo, will be her financial beneficiary during this process.

  Thank you all so much.

Please love and take care of each other as our days on this earth are too short.
