Memorial for Kacey Dupre'

Donation protected
The family and friends of Kathryn "Kacey" Dupre' have suffered the tragic loss of her bright and shining spirit.

On March 9th, 2017 Kacey was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and the news was heartbreaking. However, Kacey's strong will and determination kept her fighting. She even said herself, "I am a strong, Christian woman. I can make it through anything."

Kacey lived a vibrant life. Her greatest accomplishments included raising two daughters with her husband Steve of 33 years.

Kacey worked at The Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch which focuses on a quality education for children who have special learning needs due to psychiatric, behavioral and trauma issues. She was honored to help so many kids in her 31 year career.

Kacey left a mark with everyone she came in contact with. She treated everyone as if they were her own family - taking them under her wing to protect, comfort and provide plenty of laughs. And she always had plenty of candy to go around! She was full of life, adventure, and genuinely one of the kindest people.

Kacey's amazing team of doctors at Mayo Clinic consisted of nurses, surgeons, oncologists, an ICU team, palliative care, physical therapists, and an entire cancer specialist team - all within the 4 week journey. The tumor that had taken over Kacey's lungs had grown to larger than 6 inches and her doctors exhausted every option to prolong her life as long as possible.

The Lord called Kacey home on April 18th, 2017. She passed away peacefully with her two daughters right by her side.

The family has been hit severely hard, emotionally and financially. In 2011, they lost their entire home in a devastating flood which depleted their life savings. In the midst of them recovering from the flood, Kacey's diagnosis came very suddenly and unexpectedly. Additionally, Kacey's employment brought in 80% of the household income and there is unfortunately no life insurance policy to assist in end of life costs. The goal of $50,000 will help take the burden off of the family facing medical bills exceeding $100,000.

We are very grateful for the support we have received and will continue to receive. We look forward to celebrating her life in every way possible.

Much love and graditude,
Steve, Shannon, & Krystal
