For those of you who may not know I have Crohn's Disease.  I was diagnosed in 2010 and it has progressed in the past two years.  One of my best friends set one of these up for me earlier this year and I got a great response and I could not have been happier for all of the support I got! Earlier this year I had a minor surgery to remove a cyst I had and I woke up still half out of it from the anesthesia to my mom looking upset. I asked her what was wrong and she said to wait for the doctor to come talk to me and I knew it wasn't good, when they came in my surgeon told me that I had to have a major surgery to give my colon a break, and with no time to think about it I was admitted and had a "temporary" ileostomy placed two days later. The two days prior to the surgery were spent in the hospital surrounded by close friends and family at all times, and trying on jeans to see where I wanted my bag to be placed. Who would think at 26 you would be getting fitted to having a colostomy bag, I certainly didn't. This was supposed to help my colon heal from all of the inflammation and disease that was living in it, and unfortunately I have progressed.  The medications that have cost thousands of dollars, I have failed. I have been seeing four different doctors regularly. Three here in Portland and one in Boston, all who have been amazing and I can tell they genuinely care about my situation.
Two weeks ago I found out that I will need to have my colon fully removed and have a Permanent Proctocolectomy in the beginning of October.  As you could imagine I am still trying to wrap my head around all of this while being as positive as I can be with a wonderful support system.
I don't like asking for money, I don't know anyone who does.  But, I have been out of work since November 2015, and I am going to be honest I am struggling. With this surgery coming up and the past 8 surgeries I have had after my last big one in March, I am just trying to stay on top of my bills.
Anything would mean so much to me, even just a share of my page. I am so thankful for all of the support I have recieved already and I may not be able to repay everyone as I would like to but know that it means the world to me just when someone says they are thinking of me, or praying for me and my well being. Anything help, and again thank you so much for reading my story and helping me through this battle I won't stop fighting!
