Melissa Guadalupe Hernandez Funeral

9 year old Melissa Guadalupe Hernandez was the oldest of 3 sisters, ages 8 and 1. As the oldest child, Melissa faced great resposibilities and it showed quickly. Melissa was a star student at Jim Thorpe Fundamental, and she had big dreams and aspirations at a very young age. Melissa shared her dreams with her parents of attending a UC and ultimately helping them with their citizenship, but on Sunday night her dreams were cut short. 


On February 5th at around 11:19pm Melissa wasn't feeling well and was on her way to the hospital with her father. Around 11:24pm Melissa and her father were hit by an oncoming vehicle, which struck the passenger side where she was sitting, in front of South Coast Global Medical Center. Around 11:30pm Melissa was pulled out of the car by her injured father and she saw his face one last time. Melissa's uncle arrived at the scene and accompanied her as she was transported to CHOC and pronounced dead.

The Guadalupe Hernandez family is grieving for their loss and it would mean the world to them if they could get any financial help towards their arrangment in saying a final farewell to their beloved daughter Melissa. All donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you and god bless.
