Our mom, R. Melinda Hoffman, recently survived a traumatic car accident. Driving home from a business trip, she was hit from behind on the interstate by a speeding vehicle. This caused her car to lose control and flip over on the highway median. Her vehicle was crushed, but she was miraculously able to exit her car and get to safety.
It is a true miracle that she survived and she thanks her guardian angels. She is, however, suffering the effects of trauma and symptoms of post-concussion, whiplash, and significant soft tissue injury. Mom is currently undergoing physical therapy, trauma counseling, and rehabilitation, but the expenses of her needed treatments exceed what we can afford to pay at the moment.
For those of you who know her, mom is a strong and independent artisan who runs her own small business. Her livelihood is dependent on traveling and working art fairs nearly every weekend. In addition to the totaled car, most of her merchandise was ejected from the vehicle and damaged in the accident. Her income has been affected as her ability to work is paused until she is able to heal physically and emotionally.
Any support that will aid in our mom's healing is deeply appreciated at this time and we are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support that we have received thus far.
