MeiMei’s Road to Recovery (post operation)

( my vet office (New England Animal Medical Center) does NOT take donations towards vet bills as it would be too much with all the different card numbers, but I am happy to work something out if you are interested in donating)


MeiMei (may-may) is my 5 month old ferret. I got her in August of 2018 when she was around 2 months old. Since then she’s been living a happy healthy life with her 8 month old brother Timmy.

Earlier today (12/8/18) she was acting very different. She wasn’t moving as much, no eating or drinking, sleeping, just not normal behavior. She eventually was dry heaving and actually threw up at one point. She even refused to eat an egg... she loves eggs! I ended up bringing her to the vet with my mom later that night. 

While at the vet she had fluids and x-rays. The x-rays didn’t show a specific foreign object, just a bunch of gas in her stomach and GI tract. We sent the x-rays to a radiologist. They are confident there is a blockage. There aren’t many options. Eventually without surgery she will die. The blockage probably will not pass on it’s own and leaving it there can cause further pain (pressure on the organ walls can cause it to rip open resulting in death) .

the cost of everything is in the $3,000 range.

i really need help this time, I’m working part time and finishing senior year of high school. I am working to paying the vet bills off. She’s my babygirl and I will do anything to make sure she’s okay. Even if it’s just a dollar every cent will help our little family.

MeiMei came home today! (12/11) she had surgery Sunday afternoon and is doing amazing. They recovered a small piece of rubber in her small intestine that was blocking her G.I track. She is now at home resting. Thank you to those who’ve supported her/donated ! We love you guys❤️

1/20/2019 UPDATE: everyone is doing good! We appreciate you’re support so much :) donations are still open ❤️. And yes. I have been making weekly payments towards my vet bills.
