Meds for Maxx

My name is Rachel Neil, I am the proud owner of Maxx! (my 4yo rescue dog with a troubled past). We have a classic love story that I will try to keep short.

Maxx was in a situation where he has been severly neglected, found by his original owners unable to even stand. He than spent a week in an animal hospital because he was dehydrated, starved, and near to death. The original owners did not what to put him back in the abusive situatuion he has came from. they asked a mutual friend if he could stay with her for awhile.

I moved in with this same friend the summer of 2016 (a handful of months after Maxx did). After finally ending a two year long abusive relationship of my own, I had  PTSD, depression, and a whole lot of health problems that continue.

The night I moved in I met Maxx, and it was the first feeling of happiness I had  in what felt like millennia (I am crying as I type this). This dog and me instantly bonded, I swore my soul connected to his. From there on out me and Maxx did everything together. He has a gentle heart and strong loyalty.

In the last 2 years we taught each other how to build trust, experience happiness (in even the saddest times), learned that without dark there can be no light, how to feel safe, and my favorite: understanding unconditional love. He has made everything I have experienced in life worth it, because with out that path I wouldn't have met him.

Sob story over: this is why you lovely people are here!
I took Maxx in for his 3 year shots recently and the vet brought up some concerns. We ran $400 dollars worth of tests and from the results decided he needs an ultrasound and CAT scan to find out if his issues are cancerous (which will lead
to many medications and surgery) or hopefully something else, but the chances of that look slim. I am 21 and I work 2 part-time jobs to make ends meet for him and I, while giving us the best life I possibly can. His medical expenses have hit a place where I alone cannot cope. We would be more than floored with any donation, prayers, and/or messages of support. The gratitude I have for you even reading all of this is truly bigger than you can imagine. The money would be used to cover all of his medical costs, and if there is any residual we will donate it to our local animal shelter.
