A Vision for Peace and Happiness: Vajrayogini Buddhist Center in the Nation’s Capital

Since 1994, Vajrayogini Buddhist Center  has helped Washingtonians cultivate happy, meaningful, and peaceful lives by providing access to Buddhist meditations and teachings.

Our current center fits only about 20 people comfortably, but there are millions living in the DC metro area.

We wish to secure a new home that helps us grow deep roots in the community and bring benefit to countless living beings--a place where many people can gather to receive teachings, inspiring energy and support.

Our Center is moving to a bigger location this fall and we are seeking donations to cover our relocation costs. Your name will be recognized on the Center’s Wish-fulfilling Tree if you contribute by August 1st.  Any amount is appreciated and will help others in the DC area learn the true causes of happiness and how to attain it!

“If we give money to a Dharma Center there will be great meaning, the merit will increase for as long as the Center exists. As the Center grows and flourishes, bringing happiness to more and more people, the power of our offering will increase.”  — Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

About the Center: Vajrayogini Buddhist Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and member center of the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT), a global association of more than 1,100 Buddhist Centers and branches that follow the teachings of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. We offer diverse courses and study programs for all levels of practitioners, ranging from people who just wish to learn about meditation through to those who wish to engage in in-depth study and practice of the Buddhist path to enlightenment.  Our resident teacher is American Buddhist nun, Gen Kelsang Nyema.

**Please Note:  The GoFundMe functionality for monthly donations doesn't enable you to specify a certain number of months up front.  If you choose to donate monthly, you'll receive an email each month acknowledging your donation.  That monthly email will also contain a link that enables you to close out the donation (though it's entirely welcome if  you'd like to keep going, beyond the period youv'e pledged!)
