Medical Supplies for Vietnam Volunteer Trip

Hello friends and family,

This past year I've had the incredible opportunity to begin my academic journey at UC Berkeley with the intentions of majoring in Environmental Science and pursuing a healthcare career in the future. In order to get a better sense of medicine and explore my own reasons for my career direction, I joined Volunteers for Medical Outreach(VMO), an organization at my university which performs service trips each summer to provide free healthcare services to underprivileged communities around the world. 

This summer, I will be traveling to Vietnam as part of VMO's trip team to assist and shadow dentists, doctors, and pharmacists in their work. Our organization works with nonprofit organizations such as Aid for Children Without Parents (ACWP), San Jose based Friends of Hue Foundation (FHF), as well as the Vietnam Tooth Project (VTP). In preparation for this trip, we fundraise to buy medical supplies, finance corrective surgeries and operate the mobile clinics for the underserved in Vietnam. So far, we have done Banh Mi Sales on campus in addition to selling donuts in San Francisco to raise funds.

All funds from what I raise in addition to other members of my team will completely go towards buying medical supplies and funding mobile clinics that provide check-ups and more. Supporting our cause benefits hundreds of people that are in need of healthcare.
