Chelsey Mitchell Shepherd is the loving mother of 3 boys ages 6,5 and 10 months. On August 29th she had surgery to remove 2 lobes from her right lung. She stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks and returned home for 2 weeks and was returned to UT Southwestern in Dallas with an aggressive infection and stayed for an additional 3 weeks. She returned home for 2 weeks and then returned to UT Southwestern for a follow up on October 29th. The CT scan showed a tumor on her spine in addition to a lump on her back, she then began to have difficulty walking. They re-admitted her and did emergency surgery on her spine on November 3rd replacing T8 and supporting T6,T7,T9 and T10 with rods and screws. The biopsy came back as Squamous Cell Carcinoma and for those of you who don’t know what that means it is Cancer. They will begin radiation soon and she will go through extensive Physical Therapy as her legs are in major need of therapy. Her medical bills alone are over $300,000 and she owes over $2,000 in Oxygen. She does not have medicaid or insurance. And that’s not to mention all the trips her husband and family will be making back and forth to Ft Worth to be be with her. Thank you all for taking the time to read. Any little donation will help.
