Medical bills for Olivia

Update: Due to ongoing medical issues associated with injuries sustained last September at her home, Duke Memorial Custodian Olivia Suarez is uncertain of her return to work. In recognition of her 19 years of dedicated service to the congregation, Duke Memorial would like to invite you to contribute to a love offering for Olivia. We have already raised over $6,000 to help with medical expenses. Now it is our goal to raise an additional $12,500, which would sustain her salary through the 1-year mark of her injury and provide her the space she needs to continue physical therapy and healing. September 8th, Olivia Suarez, Ministry Team Member on staff at Duke Memorial UMC fell down stairs and broke her left leg. The break is serious enough to have needed three surgeries already with a fourth surgery scheduled in a few weeks.
Olivia has been a part of the staff team at Duke Memorial for 19 years. Olivia most often works behind the scenes cleaning and preparing the church for daily use for our community. Olivia is also a Mother and Grandmother who offers care to her family both here and in Mexico.
Olivia does not have health insurance and medical costs will be devastating for her family. Please donate generously as medical expenses pile on quickly. Friends, let's come together as a community to show our support for Olivia and her family as she has been a support to our community in so many ways.
Some of you have asked if you can give to Olivia through Duke Memorial UMC. Designated giving, however, is not tax deductible through a church. Therefore, this page was created. Although funds collected here are also not tax deductible, the page gives us the ability to advertise the needs far and wide and the resources to collect funds in one place.
