Medical Bills for Little Bee Blake

I am setting up this GoFundMe page for my Sister and her fiancé as they have had their world turned upside down in the last week with unexpected medical issues regarding their daughter, my niece, Blake Ashley❤️ I have had people ask if I was going to do this, as well as some very good friends mention that there are some fellow DuPont parents who have been where my sister and her family have been, night after night in the hospital praying for the best possible outcome even if it meant millions of tests with costs beyond their budget or means, who were WANTING to give to her because they understand firsthand.
So here’s her story:
Little Bee Blake is my sweet little 2 month old niece who had just recently this past week been diagnosed with a number of medical issues that will affect her physical and mental progression as she grows. This was something that my younger sister and her fiancé were not expecting nor prepared to hear. Now that Blake will require 24/7 care from my sister and her fiancé it is unknown what bills lie ahead of them as many therapies and appointments are in their future for her. She not only will have Hip surgery in about three weeks for her hip dysplasia, which will be followed by about 8+ weeks of a Spica cast, but then possibly followed by a harness for another 6 or so, but also will be following up with physical therapy, opthomology, speech therapy, and audiology. She will require hearing aids for her moderate hearing loss for the rest of her life.
Last Friday we got the news that Blake has, along with her hearing loss and hip dysplasia, a few brain deformities. Some parts of her brain are too large and some too small. The ventricles that control her feeding habits are too large and we’re causing her poor weight gain and irregular feeding habits. For now she has an NG tube placed to help supplement her feedings with her bottles.
Not only are there going going to be rising medical costs for them, but my sister will have to take her unpaid FMLA and devote her days and nights to giving Blake the care she needs. This has happened only 2 and a half months after her and her fiancé bought their first home as well. The timing was definitely not ideal and thought our family is so strong and will go to the ends of the earth for them to make sure Blake meets as many milestones as she can, the stress of the medical bills is something I hope can be alleviated. Even if it’s only a few dollars.
