My dad, Ernie Encinas recently had surgery to fix a ruptured diaphragm this past week. This was his first surgery post liver transplant (August 2013) The surgery ended up taking over 8 hours resulting in some extreme complications. My dad is in ICU, presently incubated due to inability to breathe, with pancreatitis, failing kidneys and pneumonia. Last night he was transferred to Good Sam in Phoenix from the Banner Gateway in Gilbert.
We are looking to raise money to assist my mom with travel expenses to get to and from the hospital. He is the primary provider for their family and is currently only getting short term disability for two weeks at 60% of their income, then he will go unpaid. The disability funds can barely cover their household bills. I am helping as much as I can but, it is not enough to allow my mom to focus on being there while not worrying about how to get funds to get to the hospital.
