Media Student needs help funding a desktop PC

Hi there! My name is Alwin Nijsen and I'm a freshman Media and Culture student at Utrecht University. During my freshman year I have already given a guest lecture and I have been published in my bachelor's magazine. My grades are good and I'm well on my way towards my second year.
Unfortunately, my aged computer is a substantial roadblock. My study requires me to have a reliable PC to do research, write essays and access different kinds of media. I can't analyze a TV show or a videogame with a broken computer.
I bought the complete setup over 10 years ago. Some parts have been replaced but I still use the same monitor, speakers, casing and hardrive. It's already a slow computer when it's working "normally", but I have to deal with random bouts of multiple crashes in a row. I've updated the drivers and dusted the hardware. But that doesn't change the fact that I'm working with a setup well over a decade old.
If I could fund my new desktop I happily would. Unfortunately I'm in no such position. I'm autistic with ADD and on social security. I can't make minimum wage. The daily commute to university is very costly. I simply don't have the financial space to save up for a new computer.
I need help to fund a new computer. Because a new computer means I have a better chance to succesfully get my degree in Media and Culture studies. And with that degree, I have a better chance to get a job that suits me so I won't have to rely on social security anymore.
