Lily's Breast Cancer Battle

Recently Lily was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer.  In October she had surgery to remove the tumor and some lymph nodes.  Now she needs to undergo Chemo Therapy for the next three months and then radiation for two months after that.  She will also be on a pill regimen for the next ten years.  The GoFundMe account is a way for us to let others help us meet many of the financial needs we have, as well as donate meals to help us relax more and face this disease with positive attitudes and loving support.  We will continue to add to the meal schedule at least while she undergoes Chemo Therapy.  We want to see how well it works and will adjust as needed.

Aside from being the most absolute LOVE of my life and my best friend, all who know Lily know that she has a genuine, sincere, strong, and optimistic approach to life and people.  She is an impressive force of goodness in this world.  The genuine outpouring of love and support is very humbling. It shows her that who she is, how she is, MATTERS and people love and support her because she makes a positive difference.  She hears things like this from me and thinks I’m just crazy.  She hears and sees it from others and it sincerely touches her heart.  So, thank you everyone for your genuine kindness and for helping her stay positive and know how much she is loved.  (also see our CaringBridge Page  )

This is a tough road that too many have to face.  Please consider finding a way to help the cause or others in any way to help cure cancer and make things better for  everyone.

We are so very grateful for any and all help.  Honestly, the best thing to share are your own stories or words of encouragement.  We know at times like this people feel sorry for those locked in such struggles.  However, we really do not need sympathy.  We feel so many blessings upon us and sincerely believe that each challenge we encounter in our lives is there to build us up, make us stronger, and truly bring us closer to an understanding of life and the many blessings around all of us! 

To roughly quote what our dear friends Charlie and Lucy Wedemeyer  usually say is that life will always present you with challenges.  You can throw your own pity party and make others feel miserable.  Or, you can choose to face things with a positive perspective knowing we will come out stronger people from the experience. God gives us the power of choice and the ability to see blessings and grow from everything. 

So, give thanks to the many blessings we have and that will come our way!  We are so very grateful for the generosity of others and we hope and pray that it extends to many others in any way positive!
