Hi everyone! My name is Rene Rodriguez, and I am the proud and humbled coach of the MD Ind. Elite FC 2001. Over the past year I’ve had the opportunity of training a team of young men whose passion and dedication to the sport of soccer inspires me each and every day. One year ago we were ranked #24 in Maryland, but through hard work, dedication, and drive this team is now ranked #12.
Recently we came across a great opportunity for these young men to participate in the NCAA College Cup which will be take place in Santa Barbara, California on December 6-9. The importance of this tournament is the opportunity that these young men have to become scouted by colleges around the nation.
Our young men ages 16-17 come from working class families whose financial situation does not allow for them to attend a higher education institution if not with scholarship assistance. Our young men have expressed desire in attending this tournament and are very excited at the prospect to use their athletic skills to create opportunities for higher educations.
However, as a non-profit we have very limited funds and their families are unable to cover the total expense of plane ticket, hotel, and tournament fee. We are asking from the bottom of our hearts, if you can help us raise the necessary $10,000 to cover the expenses these young men have in order to participate in this life changing experience.
