McNeill Conjoined Twins

Donation protected
Hello everyone! We are the McNeill's. Grayson, Candice, Emma, Ella, and Annabelle and we are expecting conjoined twin girls. We have named them Emily and Sophie, their due date is November 15th but they will be born by c section around October 25th.

When we found out that God had blessed us again we were escatic! We kept wondering this time would this next baby be a boy, since we had 3 girls! I have learned a lot through this journey and definitely one of the things is to be thankful for the health of your children, it doesn't matter if the baby is a boy or girl as long as this baby is healthy! We would always say that but when something is wrong with your child, saying that brings on a whole new meaning! We found out at 15 weeks that not only was I pregnant with twins but they were conjoined! All in one day! While getting my first ultrasound done at 15 weeks we were hoping to see if the baby was a boy or girl but when my husband kept asking if there was only one baby, the sonographer turned and said no there are actually 2 babies! Well immediately tears of joy and excitement came down my face. Two babies to love! God has given us TWINS! But then the sonographer got very quiet and said we had to meet with the doctor. We immediately knew something wasn't right. We sat in the waiting room for what felt like hours and finally we were called back to a room to meet with my doctor. We really didn't know what to think at that time when we heard the doctor say to us, " I don't know how to tell you this but you are only the second time I have seen this in my 25 years of practice and you are having conjoined twins and it is very rare and we just don't know much about this". This doctor we saw was very good to us and so has all of my local OBGYNs here in my hometown. We were immediately referred to a specialist and when we had our ultrasound done there the doctor came in and spoke with us and of course mentioned termination of the pregnancy, that these babies were very likely not to make it through the pregnancy even. My husband and I both said that was not an option for us and that was up to God and we would leave it in HIS hands!

Here I am almost 31 weeks pregnant and we are on the road to preparing for the birth of our precious miracle babies! Even now there are still a lot of unknowns! The girls are conjoined at the shoulder they each have their own spines and necks but basically it's one body with two heads each baby has her own heart but Baby B's heart is a lot smaller and not as developed as Baby A's and so the concern is that they believe that baby B's heart is somehow connected to Baby A's heart and Baby B is living off of baby A and the doctors just don't know how long they will be able to function this way. They believe that they see 4 lungs on the MRI images, 2 of their own and then 2 in the middle that are either very close or joined somehow, as well as 2 stomachs, 2 kidneys, possibly 2 bladders, we are just not quite sure the full details and won't know until they are born on some things. We are still in prayer about where we need to go (possibly out of state) to deliver these babies, we want of course what is the best for them as well as for our family. Please join us in praying for our miracle babies, Emily and Sophie and also for God's guidance as we make some very important decisions in the days to come. Thank you and may God Bless you! In His service,
The McNeill Family
