Point Roberts Family Fire Fund

$2,130 of $5,000 goal

Raised by 27 people in 43 months
I live in a very special town. I know a couple who live here very well. Once I heard a rumor that they were going to move away to be closer to medical facilities due to the health issues of the lady of the house. I asked if this was true. I was told that yes, they would like to sell their house and move closer to medical facilities, but we're going to put it off until one of their furry pets passed on. They did not want to make him move from the only home he knew since he was getting on in age.

Sadness has entered our small community. Yesterday there was a house fire at their home. They have lost everything, including their precious pet.

I wanted to create a go fund me account to help them get on their feet, find a place to stay, and recover from their great loss.

I'm sure anything would  help!!

Deanna - thank you so much for getting this started. There are so many details to get through with the insurance. Unfortunately, most of it is disappointing - but Mom and Vinny are staying positive. Thank you everyone for your support! Every bit helps.

I am just now able to come back to visit this site after two more falls- and months of finding my mind making plans for the 'house' when we returned. I think it has become real and we are able to talk of new plans. The lot is cleared and we will be making decisions of what to do with it for the future. It was a difficult bridge to cross and needed to wait for the jackhammer to stop. I have thought of you all, often during these months... amazed at your caring and generosity. It is all pretty vague, cars stopping at our house and Colleen's with offers of help... food, clothing, toiletries, blankets and a beautiful handmade quilt from the Red Cross and then this. Those of you who shared your own memories of tragedy and loss helped so much to remember how blessed we were/are even to the point that our beloved Ms Vy felt no pain. Those who left message of hope and reassurance... all means so much. Thank you all and we will be paying forward at every opportunity.

Vinny and Amy- Was asleep when the fire broke out down the street at your house. The firemen used the hydrant in my front yard, and when I realized what was going on I walked over to watch and it reminded me of when I was a kid and the house I grew up in caught on fire from a lightening strike. Compared to you,we were lucky and our house was saved. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. Wish could donate more but am behind on property taxes. I am just down the street from your house and if you ever need my help I don't know any other way to try to reach you than through this site. I can be reached at 1-800-333-2553 H&W if you need me for any reason, or at jham@iahf.com
