McNally Adoption Fund

$3,500 of $20,000 goal

Raised by 20 people in 22 months
Heather and I are embarking on the adventure of a lifetime.  We are beginning the journey that most married couples dream of…parenthood.  We are excited, scared, happy, nervous, and most of all grateful.  We have chosen to pursue adoption.  We have many reasons for pursuing adoption.  The most important reason is to have a child to love and care for.

We started this page to help complete our journey of having a family.  If you are family, friends, or someone who this page has reached in some way and you would like to donate to our journey we will be forever grateful.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us, and thank you for your generosity.

Unpack. Calm down. We can do this together. That's where we are right now. After the emotional rollercoaster of this failed adoption, having to unpack our bags and Hadley's bags, we are picking ourselves up together.

We have had so much support from family, friends, and even those who have chosen to remain anonymous. We are disappointed with the adoption system. We have to take such a huge emotional and financial risk. When it fails, you lose a large amount of money and are left with heartache. Heather has remained more confident than I. The thought of having another failed adoption scares me to death. Not only going through the emotional turmoil, but the loss of another large amount of money would set back our adoption for who knows how long. We have submitted our profile to a few other birth parents and have not been chosen.

For now all we can do is keep hoping. Thanks you all for your thoughts and support.

It is with great sadness that I have to write this update. After a very difficult day Thursday and a sleepless night, we were informed on Friday that the birth mother has changed her mind. We’ve been matched since May, but decided to wait to tell people until we felt more assured. Then only days later we get this devastating news. We have many feelings swirling through our hearts and minds. While we knew this was a risk, it’s hard to believe this is really happening. We feel sad and angry, but mostly our hearts are just broken.

Although we didn’t go through nine months of a pregnancy, we have had an emotional roller coaster of a different type. Mentally we were going through what other expecting parents go through, and then we had it taken from us. We feel great loss and sadness. We had already begun to build our life around our soon to be born daughter. We had dreams of holding our child against us as she looks up with eyes of innocence, trust, and love. Rocking her to sleep and feeling her gentle breathing as she takes in life. Watching her all night as she sleeps just because you never want to leave her side. These are the dreams we’ve dreamed.

Now we must go back to the beginning. Yes, we are finding it difficult emotionally to put ourselves in this position again. But, we know our Hadley is out there and we can’t wait to find her. And so our journey continues…

We’ve been matched! Most of our friends and family know or have guessed from our social media accounts that our baby girl, Hadley, is due July 26th! Which really means any day now! Our bags are packed (including Hadley’s little suitcase). We are ready to leave at a moment’s notice. As soon as we get the call, we will be on the road. We will keep y’all posted.
Ready to go!
