The Alexandria Little League Intermediate Division All Star Team won the Virginia State Championship on Monday. The Alexandria team now advances to represent the Commonwealth in the Southeast Regional Tournament next week in Kernersville, NC vs. state champions from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia and Mississippi.
This is the first team from Alexandria to capture the Little League State Championship on any level - ever! On the way, they won three straight games in the District 4 tournament and swept four straight in the State Championship in South Boston, VA by a combined score of 80-19!
Funds raised are fully tax deductible and will go directly to Alexandria Little League. Funds will be used to help defray the travel costs incurred at the tournament in North Carolina beginning on July 20th.
