We are the Friends of Eugene W. Grant, the current mayor of Seat Pleasant, Maryland a bedroom community outside of Washington, DC.
A group of dedicated supporters is working to raise funds to support Mayor Grant’s reelection efforts. Mayor Grant is a great man, leader, and mentor to literally thousands of people around the world. He has been a tremendous leader holding a number of positions that benefit the residents and citizens of Seat Pleasant.
A proven leader among leaders; Mayor Grant also serves as the President of the Prince George’s County Municipal Association, Treasurer for the Maryland Municipal League, Chairman of the Board for Health Empowerment Network of Maryland, Chairman of the Board for Global Developmental Services for Youth, Inc. and countless other positions.
Because of the increase in violence in the community and around the country Mayor Grant launched a Stop The Violence Movement in Prince George’s County (www.pgcstv.org ). This movement is addressing and tackling the issues of violence in the community and police violence against citizens. His vision is to address the causes of violence and develop partnerships that help to address anger management, and conflict resolution.
We are excited to support a leader who is DOING something to address the issue of Violence and more. He is working to establish Smart City Operations in the city that will use IBM’s Intelligent Operations applications, City-wide monitoring and other Internet Of Things technology that will help address violence in the community. For instance, when the police pull over a person, someone at the new command center can zoom in and record the contact, increase lighting and record what happens hopefully reducing the chances of a negative interaction between police and civilians.

Donations received will be used for creative supplies to create signs, to print collateral material, host events and hire young people to work for the campaign giving them much needed financial support.
