I have over 45 years of serving communities through my work in the non-profit and educational sectors--I was a teacher, coach, and mentor in the public schools for over ten years. In 1989, my first appointment as Executive Director to the Birmingham, Alabama YMCA started a 26 year career. This allowed me the opportunity to work in each region of the United States.
After retirement my wife, Judy, chose Daphne, Alabama as our home. We are proud parents of two sons, a daughter- in-law, and three grandchildren. Devoted Christians we are members of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Addressing community needs are important to me. I serve as President of the Austin Brook and Parks Property Owner’s Association and as a Board Member of the Ruff Wilson Youth Organization.
Quality of life issues are important to me. My goal is a community built on Safety, Security, and Exceptional Healthcare. I will work hard towards strengthening our education system, creating more opportunities in our workforce, improving our infrastructure, and protecting our waterways.
I look forward to working on behalf of the residents of District 96 and all Alabamians. I will support legislation that serves to protect our citizens and build solid communities. I listen, I understand, and care about what is important to people. My life work is built on Servant Leadership and I am ready to serve.
