Mature Cats Need Emergency Surgery!

Donation protected

Mature cats need emergency surgery! Please help us provide care for Kali, Jones, and Harley.

We are three cohabiting trans artists getting by and raising a family of cats. Despite having regular income, we are struggling to keep up due to sudden medical costs affecting our cats: Kali (age ~18), Jones (age 8), and Harley (age 9).

The most pressing issue is getting dental extractions for our elderly cat, Kali. Kali is the newest addition to our family, and the most at risk of escalating illness. We received Kali from a neighbor who was moving and afraid that an elderly cat wouldn’t have a good chance of getting adopted. As we all know, it’s harder for adult cats to get adopted, and an especially old cat is most likely to just end up euthanized. :( We took Kali into our home to give her a second chance to live out her golden years in love and comfort.  As cat parents, we take this duty very seriously. Kali has severe dental issues which will require extractions -- as it is currently, it hurts her mouth to eat dry food and she came to us already underweight. The vet estimates this will come out to $945.

Our little tuxedo boy, Jones, is having balance problems that require ear surgery. Jones has been scratching at his ear and shaking his head for a few months. We’ve taken him in on several occasions to get earwax removed, as that seemed like the most likely issue, but this time around the vet told us that he has “cones” that need to be surgically removed -- which was written up on the estimated vet bill as “polyps.” Jones is a loving and active boy and if his polyps continue to grow, he might develop balance issues that severely impact his quality of life and ultimately lead to injuries.  Fortunately, we should be able to afford booking treatment for Jones very soon, but it still takes a significant chunk of our household income and savings. The estimated cost of care for Jones’ ear surgery is $798.

Harley, Felix’s best friend in the entire world, is in daily discomfort due to dental issues which require surgery. The veterinarian suggests that her surgery needs could be put off for up to a year, but would you leave your best friend in pain if you could do something about it? Currently she pulls away when you pet her face and gets irritable at anything that comes into contact with her mouth. The surgery is relatively low risk and she will recover quickly, we just want to make sure we can help her live without pain as soon as possible! The estimated expenses for her dental surgery add up to $1503.

We are all artists and make income from our art, and would be happy to sell custom art  to help cover as many of the expenses as possible. Below is a list of our websites where we can be commissioned and pre-made pieces may be purchased.

In terms of our current regular income, Felix works outside the home and Florian receives a fixed income via disability.   Sebastian is set to receive a fixed income in late autumn but currently does not have a source of income.  Together, we have been able to maintain a steady and sweet household, but it wouldn’t be the same without our cats. Please help us keep our family happy and healthy. Thank you for all of your love and support.

P.S: Our other cat is named Lucian and he says “helo please signal boost if you can thankx.”
