On August 10th, 2018, 21 year-old Matthew Weaver vanished without a trace in Malibu, CA. This page has been set up by his family members—his father, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and step-mother—in the hopes of finding him.

It is hard to explain the emotional pain and uncertainty that we have all felt since Matthew’s disappearance, and our resources have been stretched thin looking for him. We have just hired a private investigator, which is far out of our budget, and are asking for any donation you can make to help continue the search for Matthew. All funds go directly to the search, and if your donation enables just an hour more of work from the private investigator, that could mean the difference between finding Matthew or not.

At the time of his disappearance, Matthew had just moved from Simi Valley to Granada Hills, and was training to follow in his father’s footsteps as a lineman for an AT&T subcontractor. His other passions are rescuing dogs and racing cars, which is what brought him to the mountain roads of Malibu, where he likely disappeared from.

Due to phone pings, we’ve been able to determine that Matthew—or at least his car and his phone—entered the Santa Monica Mountains area from Calabasas at 5:30 a.m. on August 10. He spent several hours in the area around Rosa’s Lookout, at Saddle Peak and Stunt roads, before the car turned down a dirt road. He sent his last text that day at 11:56 a.m., and that was the last time anyone heard from him.

His car was found the following morning hanging off the edge of the road, abandoned. We have found no cell phone, no wallet, and no article of clothing. Matt was last seen with black dickie pants, a white or black plain shirt, an Angels baseball hat, & red sneakers. Matt is 21 years old, 5'10, 130 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair.

The police have not yet escalated Matthew to “critical missing” status, which means that very few resources are being devoted to searching for him. This is why we need your help
