Matthew Hanson Medical Fund

On Friday morning Robin woke to find Matthew struggling to breathe. When he stopped breathing, she called 911 and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. They were able to shock his heart and it began beating again. 

What followed next was a whirlwind of the emergency room, scans and tests, and placement in the ICU. At this time we don’t know the cause of Matt’s heart stopping, but we have been able to rule many potential causes out. Not knowing is the most difficult place to be in. 

Matt is currently in a medically induced coma, so his body can focus its energy on healing. We will not know until he is brought out of sedation and re-warmed if he has suffered brain damage. 

The next few days will be the hardest of Matt and Robin’s lives as we wait and hope. During this time one of the last things they need to be worrying about is the financial burden that comes with a crisis like this. 

Matt is loved by so many and so many of you have expressed your desire to help. This fund will help to relieve some of the financial stress put on Matt’s family, and allow them the ability to focus more on the most important thing in this moment - keeping hope for Matt’s progress towards recovery.
