Matt Simpson- Leukemia Battle Family Support

Donation protected
A friend and colleague of ours, Matt Simpson could use our prayers and support right now. Matt, Monster Energy’s Director of Marketing for eSports & Gaming was hit with the devastating diagnosis of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia on Wednesday. He is undergoing tests and scans now so his doctors can better understand the situation to determine the best treatment plan. He is currently at UC San Diego Health Jacobs Medical Center in La Jolla and will be there for 3-4 weeks undergoing initial chemotherapy treatment. After this a bone marrow transplant or stem cell transplant may be required. His full treatment plan is not yet determined.

Matt’s illness evaded doctors for the past 8-months as his energy was drained, he experienced out-of-control weight loss and faced excruciating pain in his bones & joints. While not the diagnosis we were all hoping for it does answer the mystery and allows him, his family and his doctors to build and execute a plan fight-through and beat this cancer.

Matt’s wife Candace and their two boys Max & Gray could use some help from the village. While Matt is tied-up let’s pitch-in to help with the incremental costs they will have like hotel bills for the family to be near the hospital, extra take-out food expenses, babysitting as everything falls onto Candace’s shoulders, fund the inevitable home emergency that Matt would normally handle, get a maid to help with laundry & cleaning, you get the idea- the extra costs they will experience and offer some support so Matt’s family can be there for him.

Feel free to spread the word to other’s who may want to help.

Update 1/12 from Matt-
I got the full diagnoses. I'm going to be here for at least 4 weeks with potentially another week added on for the first round. And I will need 2-3 rounds about a week long each before the bone marrow transplant.

I have B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It is pretty rare in the US but this hospital only deals with blood cancers so they have treated it before.

I'm starting chemotherapy tomorrow, once they knock out the leukemia cells, they start looking to do a bone marrow transplant.
