Matt Onyshko Comedy Show
We are hosting a comedy show on April 22, 2017 to help raise money for Matt's medical needs. Any donation is appreciated, and we thank you. Matt Onyshko is a ten year veteran with the city of Pittsburgh Fire Department. Several years ago, Matt was sadly diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig ’s disease).
This terrible disease has robbed Matt of his ability to fight fires. He is now restricted to his wheelchair and breathes with the help of a diaphragm pacemaker. He requires daily feedings through a feeding tube to ensure that his nutritional needs are met. As Matt’s disease progresses, so will his medical expenses.
Matt worked out of the Deutschtown Engine 32 Fire Station on Spring Garden Avenue in the North Side section of the City of Pittsburgh. A lifelong resident of Brighton Heights, Matt is married to his amazing wife, Jessica, and has two young daughters, Kendall, age 7, and McKenna, age 5.
We are all inspired by Matt's courage, positivity and perseverance. All of the money raised via the website will go directly to Matt. The funds will be used to pay for many medical expenses that are not covered by health insurance including potential cutting edge ALS treatments.
