House of Hope of Guinea-Bissau

We, volunteers of the charity foundation “Mila for Africa”, are raising funds for on-going support of the low-income families and orphans in the shelter under our care. 

The charity foundation “Mila for Africa” was founded in June of 2017 by Mila Anufrieva, while the initiative was inspired by her first visit to Africa in 2014 by the official invitation from the Ministry of Health of Guinea-Bissau in Association with the Charity Association of Friends for Children (AMIC – Amigos de Criança).

As of now, the charity foundation “Mila for Africa” cares for more than 150 children who were considered to be second class citizens. They were destined to be sold into slavery or into the organ trade. All of these children are orphans who have survived lots of violence and hardship in their lives. Some of them are also young parents, who have never before had the chance for skill development and education.

 

For on-going support, food, and medication for 150 people we spend approximately 2,000 euro (3100 CAD) per month. But our vision is much bigger than that - we are working towards improving the infrastructure of Guinea-Bissau.

 
One of the main goals at this time for our foundation is to raise funds for construction of the House of Hope of Guinea-Bissau - a shelter meant to provide support for orphans, and single moms who suffered from physical and mental violence and don't have any means for survival. This place will provide all of the necessary essentials, along with comfort and hope to those who require it. The House of Hope will also have a medical center in it, so we can provide necessary treatment for those who are in need.




For construction of the House of Hope with medical center we need to raise 40,000 Euros (approximately 61,000 CAD).
