Master's at UCL studying FQs!

Spende geschützt
Hi guys! As you may or may not know, a little over a year ago I was poisoned by a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. For awhile I felt like I had no foreseeable future, however recenty I have felt a lot better and stronger and finally feel capable of pursuing more education. I am someone who has always held education in high regard. I have a strong conviction that change for the better always occurs through education. For this reason I wish to turn the sourest lemon into lemonade and study public health.

Becasue of what happened to me, I now wish to pursue a Masters in Population Health at UCL as well as an eventual PhD in Epidemiology so as to better inform doctors, health practitioners, and citizens alike of the dangers of fluroquinolone antibiotics. Although Cipro damaged me, it has not destroyed my mind or drive.  In fact, I feel more driven and passionate in my future education than ever before.

As driven as I am, I am also a bit broke. Not only do I have student loans from my education at NYU, but I also have spent every dime I have on my health. Literally  all my savings (and a lot of my family's saving) went towards alternative medical treatments to try and remedy what Cipro did to me. So I'm asking for some financial assistance....and I promise this is a great investment!

Help me help the future patients of the world so that no one has to unneccessarily go through the torture that is Fluoroquinolone Toxicity.

Thanks for listening <3

About me: In 2016 I graduated from New York Univeristy with a BA in Biochemistry and minors in Public Health and Politics. As an undergraduate and postgraduate employee I worked in the Blaser Lab at NYU School of Medicine, studying the effetcs of antibiotics on the developing gut microbiome. Ironic, I know, that I was poisoned by an antibiotic just a few months after graduating. Throughout my illness, my boss, Dr. Blaser, was one of the few doctors who recognized and confirmed my suspicions about Ciprofloxacin. Since then we have both been interested in the effects of all antibiotics on mitochondria.

About UCL: University College London is a globally ranked university (#16 THE) and is ranked #5 in the world for social sciences and public health! (USNEWS). The director of the masters program also loved my personal statement and was very interested in what I had to say about my suspicions of fluoroquinolone antibiotics! (Yay! Validation!)
