Mary Moriarty Adams Memorial Scholarship Fund

Donation protected
Each year, Indianapolis City Councilman Blake Johnson donates a portion of his Council salary, alongside additional donations from community partners, to fund the Mary Moriarty Adams Memorial Scholarship, named after the longtime Councillor and public servant. The award is given to a selection of graduating high school seniors (or other persons planning to enroll in postsecondary education for the first time) who live or go to school in Indianapolis District 12 and have demonstrated a strong commitment to public and community service.

Since its launch in 2016, the program - formerly named the Eastside Emerging Leaders Scholarship - has awarded $40,000 in scholarships. The fund is administered by the Historic Irvington Community Council.
