Friends, on January 16th, my sister, Martha Torres, suffered a massive brain hemorrhage unexpectedly, while traveling in the U.S. alone.  For the first two weeks, she was in a coma and in Intensive Care.   On February 4th, she was transferred to a Step Down unit.  However, she still needs critical treatment. She has a tracheostomy, which requires a tube protruding from her throat, along with a feeding bag connected to her stomach.  She still needs oxygen to breathe.

Those who know Martha know she has lived her life according to her principles of serving others.  As a missionary, she has used her talents to share her time, knowledge and love with people from all over the world.  In fact, when she suffered the brain hemorrhage, she was preparing to lead a conference about her mission  trips.  Now it is time for us to pay her back for all she has contributed.

The doctors have recommended that we move Martha to Colombia immediately for her continued treatment and to be close to her family.

In order to make this happen, we need to raise US$40,000 to cover her transportation.  Due to her condition, she needs special transportation that will take her bed, tubes, other equipment, as well as a medical attendant.

Our goal is to raise these funds by the beginning of March.

We are asking for your help.  Any amount you can donate is appreciated.  Please be sure to share this page with EVERYONE you can.

Thank you on behalf of her family.

Judit Torres (sister and manager of the fundraising campaign) and Juan Nestor Bravo Torres (cousin and assistant of the fundraising campaign).
