Mark Paris Medical/Car Fund (SADFF)

$17,965 of $25,000 goal

Raised by 70 people in 6 months
This is the Story of Mark Paris.  Mark was a firefighter for the City of Tucson for 20 years.  While Mark was working as a Firefighter he became sick and developed spots on his lungs which he soon found out to be a disease called Sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease that affects multiple organs in the body, but mostly the lungs and lymph glands. In people with sarcoidosis, abnormal masses or nodules (called granulomas) consisting of inflamed tissues form in certain organs of the body. These granulomas may alter the normal structure and possibly the function of the affected organ(s).
For the past 12 years some of Marks friends have helped him with medical costs by organizing a charity golf tournament to help raise money for the rising medical costs he was incruing due to his disease.  The Mark Paris Golf Tournament  has been a huge success and if you are interested please visit the web site to learn more about it and it's goals to help Mark.
As much as the Golf Tournament has helped out the Paris family is still in need.  Over the last 10 years Mark's condition has worsened and he is to the point where he is almost unable to walk.  His lovley wife Judy has had to quit her job to stay at home and help Mark with his ever debilitating medical condition.
The SADFF is asking for any monitary donation to help Mark in purchasing a new vehicle to assist him in geting to and from his many Doctors apointments.  We are also asking for money to help with repairs around the Paris family house as all of the previous funds raised have gone for medical expenses in the past 10 years.  Any amout you can give would be greatly apreciaed and welcome.  The Southern Arizona Disabled Firefighters and Mark Paris thank you.

The following is a letter from Mark and Judy Paris:
Dear Family and Friends,
It is very hard to find the words to thank all of you that so very kindly donated towards this fund. We had no idea that this had been posted for us and we were blown away by your response. We are humbled and so very, very thankful for the huge outpouring of love and support that all of you have bestowed upon us. We also know that a simple note does not come close to expressing our eternal love and appreciation to each and every one of you. It has been a very trying time for us and what you have done, has enabled us to purchase a 'new to us' vehicle that makes it easier to get to the Doctors and keep my wheelchair inside of the vehicle and out of the weather (mostly sun and heat!). Unfortunately, we do not have contact information for all of you. If you read this please forward your information so we might be able to thank you in a more personal way. Our hearts are overwhelmed with your kindness and may all of this love and kindness be returned to you someday when you need it the most. God Bless all of you.
With love and appreciation,
Mark and Judy Paris

The Construction on the Paris home has begun. On January 23rd 2018 volunteers from the Tucson Fire department helped pour the concrete pad in front of the Paris Family home. Other activities are taking place as we speak including a new garage door, dry wall, paint and soon to come the carpet and floors. We have begun the search for a new vehicle but have found that there was very little in the price range we had set that would meet Marks needs. I decided to bump up our goal to $25,000 to hopefully find a vehicle that will serve the family well. Thanks again to everyone who has supported us up to this point. With lots of love and Hugs.
Concrete Pad is done!! Thanks everyone!
