Marine Pilot's Mom Needs Funds

Donation protected
My name is Theresa Neville.  My next door neighbor's son, Marine Major Shawn Campbell, was a pilot in Friday's terrible helicopter crash in Hawaii.  All 12 Marines are still missing.

This is a letter I received from Donna today:  "Since we learned that our son, Major Shawn Campbell, was aboard one of the two Marine CH-53 helicopters that crashed off the coast of Oahu last Thursday night, our
world has been torn to pieces and turned upside down. Our hearts are broken that we may have lost our son.

The Marines have been extending their Semper Fi blanket of compassion and care not only to Shawn's wife and children in Hawaii, but also to us. Right now, they are still conducting the search and rescue mission, and have extended the search area to 10,000 miles; he is still officially listed as "missing". The outpouring of love
and compassion from the Houston Community, from the National Media, from Facebook and from the Etsy Community of which I am a part has been
overwhelming. Since Mike is an unemployed computer engineer (laid of from HP before the company split), and he has run out of unemployment benefits, and I am past 65 and retired, we are at the end of our financial rope.

The transportation to Oahu and lodging while we are there is graciously going to be provided to us by the Marines, we learned of this after the  gofundme page was started by Theresa on Friday.  They are going
to fly us to Oahu and provide us with lodging at Kaneohe Bay base while the search and rescue efforts for our son and the other eleven Marines
continues. They will also fly us home.

Still, there are going to be expenses that we will incur while in Hawaii, all the while the regular household bills
will be piling up here at home while we are gone. If the search and rescue effort turns into a recovery effort, then our time in Hawaii may need to be extended.

We are still praying that the 12 Marines will be found alive. That would be a miracle, and we never stop praying for that. However we need to be as prepared
as possible to be able to handle any other outcome.

We have had so many people contact us, asking how they can help us. We thank Theresa for setting this page into motion so that there might be an avenue to allow those that are interested to provide assistance if they wish to do so.

We ask everyone to continue to pray for all the Marines that are missing, and for all the families and loved ones that are standing and waiting, as we are. Our message to everyone is that when you see any service member, whether active duty, veteran, or reservist, take a minute to stop and shake their hand; tell them that you thank them for their service. These brave people and their
families make sacrifices every day that we, as civilians, can't even imagine. Some of them pay the Ultimate Price. Freedom, indeed, is not "free".

Thank you,
Donna and Mike McGrew
