We'll Miss You Marilyn Hanbury

Donation protected
On May 7, 2016, Marilyn Hanbury ended her journey here on earth. After courageously battling a heart condition her entire life, she passed from heart failure, surrounded by her loved ones. If you knew Marilyn, you might have known about her condition but it was probably easily forgotten because she never let it get her down. She travel to Ireland, Thailand, Columbia, Brazil and other places, serving a sense of adventure and seizing all that life had to offer her. She never wasted the time she knew she was lucky enough to have and she never let her health hold her back or lessen her spirits.

Marilyn was a bright light in this world and was a magnet for good people to surround her. Everywhere she went, people were drawn to her. She had a cunning wit and keen sense of humor that could draw joy even out of the darkest situation. She was known for her small stature and huge personality and a love of all things Chargers, Celtics, Tool, Car Bombs, Wild Turkey, and all-around silliness. She had a fierce love for her family and friends and was quick to let people know how she felt about them.

While we know that she is gone, she is anything but forgotten. Her awesomeness has left traces worldwide and her memory will live on in the countless people she has touched. On Saturday, May 28, there will be a service in Balboa Park to remember Marilyn. You are invited to come honor her and share in celebrating what a bright and vibrant person she was. We are accepting donations to cover medical and funeral costs, all proceeds beyond that will be donated to the American Heart Association and other organizations that Marilyn loved and supported. Marilyn gave so much of herself to everyone around her, we would love to return the favor and help support her family during this difficult time. I hope that you were lucky enough to know Marilyn and experience her amazing energy. Hopefully we can all carry that along on our own journeys.

Thank you ❤
