Marie & Verlon Robinson- Sanger, Ca

$710 of $15,000 goal

My name is Kael, pronounced just like the vegetable, and I am starting a GoFundMe page with the permission of Verlon and Marie Robinson. When I read the article below about this Sanger (California) couple and learned everything that they are going through, I felt that this campaign is the least I could do to help another Central Valley neighbor.

California man offers truck, kidney to anyone who can help save dying wife

After speaking on the phone with Verlon and discussing how I may be able to help them we decided to sit down and meet and get to know one-another. Sitting in their lovely living room, I was struck by how absolutely full of light and positivity they are. Verlon told me "Marie's smile saved my life, this is me returing the favor." To see these two so in love is as moving in person as it has been in the news and on social media.  Even though they weren't counting today as one of the 'good days' I was inspired by their resolve and their candor about their current situation.

After posting online to offer his truck, his home and his kidney in hopes of finding a living-donor, Verlon was asked by UC San Francisco to take down the post as it wasn't in-line with policy. While this is an understandable rule, it was his compassion for his wife and his love that had him screaming it from the tree tops. The support has been amazing y'all, in the time that I was with them your phone calls, text messages, friend requests have not gone un-noticed by the Robinsons. "My mailbox is full and some family members have a hard time reaching me" said Verlon on Thursday morning as he polietly let his phone light up like a Christmas Tree.

With that said, if you could please direct your messages to  Verlons Facebook so we can read every message and not let any of your words of support go unheard or unread.

With this GoFundme page Marie hopes to honor the support she has recieved by being a spokesperson for those out there who are in similiar situations as she is. They had to downsize their home, ask family memebers from out-of-state to move in with them to help out, and are currently living off of credit in order pay bills. The commute back and forth to San Francisco where the cost of a nights stay during treatment is among the highest in the country.

There is a considerable expense involved with the treatments leading up to a possible transplant and then even more cost associated with after care. If you could support Verlon and Marie in any way possible to help them reach their goal, they would greatly apprecitate your contribution.

Mothers day is this weekend and Sunday marks the start of another round of treatment. Let's organize the support from those who have offered but weren't as fountunate as myself to be able to help them in person.

If we exceed our goal of $15,000 we plan to donate a percentage of the proceeds to Donor Network West to raise awareness and encourage more people to register as organ and tissue donors. I am assisting Marie and Verlon at no expense to themselves or to you, the contributors to this campaign.
