Mariah's Battle
Mariah is a five-year old bunny who was discovered as a stray in front of a pet store in New York City with severe wounds on her feet. She was rushed to the Center for Avian and Exotic Medicine in Manhattan, but this girl’s prognosis is poor due to the severity of the wounds; the infection in her feet is deep, and she is currently unable to walk. Mariah would likely need several months of bandaging and wound care, and there is a chance she may not completely recover. The doctors say she may never fully recover and that euthanasia may be a reasonable outcome.
Our volunteer who has been fostering and caring for Mariah saw that Mariah was fighting to survive. Her will to live was still there, despite the excruciating pain she was in. While she's been in our care, we also discovered that she loves kale!
We have decided not to put Mariah to sleep and are looking to get her surgery and follow-up care, which will cost $1200. Please help us save this bun!
