We are devastated to share the news that our beloved Mariah passed away on Sunday, May 12th at City of Hope hospital in Los Angeles at the age of thirty-eight from a brain hemorrhage after seeking continued treatment for leukemia.  Although Mariah was battling cancer and her health was fragile, her death was sudden and unexpected. Mariah was an extremely bright, artistic, ever-inquisitive, compassionate, giving soul who left an indelible mark, inspiring all with her kindness and enthusiasm.  She had so much more life to live but during her time here she accomplished many beautiful things - she was a devoted partner to the love of her life, Jen, and a loving daughter to her mother, Kathy. She is survived by her stepfather, John, father, Bill and siblings, Erin and Josh and stepbrother, Johnny. Mariah was a wonderful friend, a talented writer, a true crime aficionado, author of the recently released web series “Last Seen”, and a devoted practitioner of Vedic meditation. Mariah’s courage in the face of her disease and the way she bravely navigated her pain was truly remarkable.

Having been through two full bone marrow transplants, countless hospital stays and numerous rounds of treatment over the last six years, she and her wife Jen’s resources have been completely depleted. Please consider giving to cover end of life expenses during this tragic time.

In Mariah's final days at the WGA she wrote this wonderful message to her colleagues, "I hope each of you can wake up every day and appreciate what you have. We spend a lot of time obsessing over the past and worrying about the future, we rarely find ourselves appreciating the present. I wish you all the ability to Be Here Now. Enjoy life whenever you can, there is only one as far as I know. Enjoy the folks you love, too, remind them you love them whenever you get the chance, because tomorrow is not guaranteed to any of us. ... Above all else, if I can leave you with anything, remember to be kind to yourself and to others. That small step makes a huge difference in the world."

Mariah will be deeply missed.
