Emergency Services Bills

Donation protected
In October, I lost a lot of blood due to hemorrhage, causing me to pass out. I was unconscious for about half an hour before I was found, and I was taken by ambulance to the emergency room, because, despite regaining consciousness, I was unable to communicate that I didn't want to go. While horrifying, I did receive good and necessary care. They replaced my lost volume, gave me lots of drugs, ran an ekg because my heart was super stressed from the loss, and did a bunch of labs to make sure I was getting what I needed. I was able to leave the hospital on semi-steady feet about 11 hours later thanks to these interventions.

My ER bill is 8643.75. The ambulance bill is 2893.04. The physician bill is 275.00.

My insurance has paid 3621.37 between these three things, leaving me with 8190.42 to pay.

I have already sold everything I own of any value due to escaping a terribly abusive living situation, and a period of unemployment between the end of my schooling and being able to actually find a job. So here I am with a job at last, finally starting to get my feet under me in the paying of my bills and massive student loans, and this happens. What's more, the job I did manage to find is a temp position, and the shift pickings are scary slim in January. I am working every possible shift I can to try and cover this, and I only have 1 day off scheduled for the second half of December as a result.

I've set my goal for the total amount, but every little bit helps. Even if I only end with five dollars, I am incredibly grateful for each precious cent that you can spare. I would very much like to keep the roof over my head.

I promise to pay it forward when I am able. I used to be the anonymous payer of electric bills, pharmacy bills, and vet bills. I helped people with their rent and their groceries. I was the ninja gifter of water filters and poofy coats, and would stuff toothbrushes and toothpaste into long socks to hand out to the homeless with pb&j sandwiches every month. I think having been homeless myself once upon a time left me with an altruistic streak. I will get back to that, and to doing clinic outreach on a regular basis, but for now I am making an appeal to the public at large.

Please help me keep the precarious balance I had finally begun to achieve?
