Our goal is to support and establish the improvement of scientific literacy, awareness, and to advocate for the effective utilization of science for implementing policy. We believe science needs to be accessible to the public and that science is objective. The applications of science are versatile and imperative to the advancement of society. The March for Science embodies a movement to fulfill these goals and inspire continued momentum for change.
We are raising money to fund a trip for students at Wayne State University to attend the March for Science on April 22nd, 2017, in Washington, D.C. The cost for a charter bus for the weekend is roughly $4,000. We want to at least provide for the cost of transporation. All other expenses will be covered out-of-pocket by the students. We will fundraise until April 14th, 2017.
Your consideration for helping students participate in this extraordinary opportunity to exemplify their leadership skills beyond the classroom and become actively engaged in their civic responsibility is greatly appreciated. We hope that the participating students will continue being active in their government, regardless of political stance on issues.
