Meditation Marathon Age UK Hounslow

Oliver Segal, one of our trustees and befriender, is undertaking a 100 hour Meditation Marathon to raise urgently needed funds for Age UK Hounslow.
Between September 6th - 15th, he will attempt to meditate, in silence and without moving, for 10 hours a day on 10 consecutive days, each period of meditation being at least 1 hour.
Due to cutbacks in voluntary sector funding, the important services we provide to elderly people in our borough are under threat. Please help us to continue providing, communal activities, meals, information and advice at the Community Centre we operate from, as well as befriending services in people's homes.
We are looking to raise at least £15,000. Please give generously.
Our Mission is to provide services for older people regardless of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, marital status or religious belief.
Age Concern Hounslow was established in 1993 and incorporated as a charitable company in April 1997. Age Concern England and Help the Aged came together on 1st April 2009 – in April 2010 we became known as Age UK and take the name of our respective locations, hence we are Age UK Hounslow. The founding principles of the organisation are to provide services for older people regardless of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, ethnicity or religious belief.
Funds will go directly to the following:
- Refurbishment of the room to make it fit for purpose
- Armchairs
- Tables
We are aiming to have raised these funds by end of December 2018 so we book in the refurbishment work for January 2019, we greatly appreciate any donations to help us achieve our goal.
