Our friend Mapache has been unjustly held in immigration detention for over a month now. He was taken from us by ICE the day after his DACA expired. He and his legal team have been working hard to find the best option for him, and right now they are seeking voluntary departure rather than deportation. This will allow Mapache to choose where he will go when he leaves the US. The past month has put a tremendous strain on Mapache and his family, and that will not be over when he is finally released from detention.
Mapache needs help with the many costs of resettlement. As an undocumented activist, he has given so much to the community, it is our turn to give back to them. Mapache deserves all the help we can give them, so that he can begin recover from this trying ordeal. Please join us in giving Mapache as smooth a transition as we can manage!
