Mandeep Singh- Cancer Treatment and Education Fund

We are trying to raise funds to help Mandeep Singh, 20 yr old student who came to America, from a village near Kharar, Punjab, India on Jan 4th 2019 to study Nursing at Missouri Western University in St Joseph Missouri and pursue his dreams.
Unfortunately the culture shock, unfamiliar food and extreme weather resulted in him loosing weight and other complications and he ended up in emergency in St Jo, who then transferred him to KUMC hospital in Kansas City.
During his stabilization and investigations, KUMC hospital medical team diagnosed Mandeep with advanced stage of Neuro-Endocrine Cancer with a prognosis of a few months lifespan.
Mandeep's student friends reached out to Indian Association of Kansas City to request for help as he was lonely and craved Indian food. Who in turn reached out to the Sikh community, so that we could alleviate his cultural shock by sending visitors who could speak to Mandeep in Punjabi, his native language.
Mandeep was getting ready to head back to India to be with his family, depressed and resigned to his fate, but he was lucky enough that Dr Jaswinder Singh an Oncologist who is a part of local Sikh/Indian community decided to intervene, review his case and suggested that a treatment for his cancer was available (PRRT Therapy) that can significantly prolong Mandeep's life. The treatment will last approx a year and as Mandeep does not have the resources, the local Sikh/Indian community is rallying around him to provide accommodation and raise funds to maintain his status at the university, fund out of pocket costs of treatment and medicines as well as offer travel back to India so that he can see his family which currently is his greatest wish.
We are making an appeal to the wider Indian Community to help with whatever small amounts of donations you can to give this young man a chance at a new life and hope to fulfill his dreams that he came to America for. Our goal is to get the funding in place over the next two weeks to help support Mandeep's treatment and stay here.

Note: For those who wish to visit with Mandeep Singh and wish him well in person, the address is "Gurudwara Nanak Darbar Sahib, 126 S Cherry St, Olathe, KS 66061". Please be mindful that we will be restricting visits after he starts his treatment on 2/13, for 3-4 days, for Mandeep's and visitors safety reasons. Also please avoid visits if you have cough, cold or any type of flu symptoms, Mandeep's reserves to fight of infections are low.
