I am going to run my first Marathon on April the 7th 2019 in Manchester, as some of you may already know my Girlfriend is currently in her second year of studying midwifery at uni and volunteering in a local Hospital. She has already delievered numerous babies.
The course requires her to undertake an elective placement which she has decided should be totally different from the hospital she is currently training at. she has decided to travel to Ghana in August 2019 to help in the maternity care unit in a third world hospital. This will give her an amazing opportunity to broaden her knowledge and help the people of Ghana.
Her trip is completely self funded, and she Is also hoping to raise enough money provide the hospital with some basic resources they are lacking i.e. gloves, aprons and other basic essential etc.
I have now started training and preparations are in order to ensure i complete the full 26 miles within the allocated time frame. Once again any donations you could make would be highly appreciated in order to reach my goal £1500.
